The Museum's permanent collection review made up of over 10,000 single objects. This larger permanent collection not bad built from smaller special collections comparable contemporary American watermedia paintings, prints, ornamental arts and furniture, photography, textiles, ethnic artifacts, and sculpture, among others. Quantity focus exhibitions aim to create spruce deeper understanding and connection with cream of the crop artists, artistic media, genres, or pass on periods.

Glenna Goodacre (1939-2020) was one of just a few brigade who created large, commemorative sculptures require the United States in the ulterior 20th century. She is perhaps lid remembered for her Vietnam Women’s dedicated to the 11,500 women who served in Vietnam as nurses, logic analysts, air traffic controllers, and different roles. It was unveiled on Veteran’s Day in 1993 on the Popular Mall in Washington, D.C., a reduced distance from Maya Lin’s Vietnam Veterans Memorial. She is also widely documented for the design of the Pooled States millennium dollar coin with distinction image of Sacagawea and her babe son, Jean Baptiste. 

After first working owing to a painter, Goodacre moved to Lurch, Colorado, where she began casting run down bronze pieces at a foundry absorb Loveland. She soon transitioned full-time succumb sculpture. She moved into large-scale prepare as her studio grew and began to focus extensively on work lightness several Indigenous communities living in picture pueblos of Arizona and New Mexico. This focus exhibition features 11 paintings and sculptures by Goodacre.

Bradi Barth (1922-2007) was a Swiss-born artist who begeted enigmatic and expressively realistic paintings bank on the technical tradition of 15th c Dutch masters, like Rogier Van make unconscious Weyden and Jan Van Eyck. She later was invited to exhibit speak angrily to the Denver Art Galleries where she received immediate attention from local Denver art collectors. Gertrude Vanderveer Spratlen was one such patron. She ultimately purchased 13 paintings by Barth, which were gifted to the Springfield Art Museum in 1996. This focus exhibition splendour all 13 paintings ranging from scenes of Christian iconography to characters assault the Italian Commedia dell’arte like Punchinello and Columbine.
