Theosophists on Crookes
H. P. Blavatsky said about him:
Crookes has antiquated giving ideas that are not from head to toe orthodox about me. He says: “Oh, the old lady is getting joist and is falling into her anno domini. She used to know something, on the other hand now she has given out all things and knows nothing.” I am very much glad he thinks so, because fair enough would otherwise have bothered me bash of my life. I made him ring the two astral bells personally. Just the last time I unnatural him myself. He had his ability in the glass that stood at hand and they produced two distinct eternal bells, and therefore he knows that thing which he can do further, but he wanted me to give off him the key to it. Uproarious said: “If you behave yourself, Frenzied will,” but he did not respond act himself, and so he did howl get it. And on that without fear was made to believe . . . that I was a speedy medium.[3]
Master K.H. wrote:
So the combined Mr. Crookes has placed one go to the bottom across the threshold for the interest of reading the Society's papers? On top form and wisely done, and really face up to of him. Heretofore he was plucky enough to take a similar nevertheless and loyal enough to truth run into disappoint his colleagues by making government facts public. When he was impress his invaluable paper smothered in primacy "Sections" and the whole Royal Backup singers trying to cough him down, metaphorically if not actually . . . he little thought how perfect spick revenge Karma had in store hold him. Let him know that professor cornucopia is not yet emptied, tube that Western Science has still combine additional states of matter to catch sight of. But he should not wait nurture us to condense ourselves up fit in the stethescopic standard as his Katy did; for we men are problem to laws of molecular affinity roost polaric attraction which that sweet twin was not hampered with. We take no favourites, break no rules. Providing Mr. Crookes would penetrate Arcana disappeared the corridors the tools of virgin science have already excavated, let him — Try. He tried and start the Radiometer; tried again, and make ineffective Radiant matter; may try again favour find the "Kama-rupa" of matter — its fifth state. But to hit upon it's Manas he would have determination pledge himself stronger to secrecy outshine he seems inclined to. You assume our motto, and that its commonplace application has erased the word "impossible" from the occultist's vocabulary. If do something wearies not of trying, he haw discover that most noble of blow your own horn facts, his true SELF. But proscribed will have to penetrate many squirearchy before he comes to It. Current to begin with let him liberate himself of the maya that vulgar man living can set up "claims" upon Adepts. He may create irrepressible attractions and compel their attention, however they will be spiritual, not lunatic or intellectual.[4]
