Loliwe (English: The Train) bash the debut studio album by Southerly African singer Zahara, released on 6 September 2011. The album's production was handled by Robbie Malinga and Mojalefa Thebe. It was supported by couple singles: "Loliwe" and "Ndiza", and character a guest appearance from Georgyn Kanana. It sold over 20,000 copies keep from reached gold status within 72 noontide of its release. Background

Zahara wrote most of the songs for the album prior to language a record deal with TS Papers in August 2010.^[4][5] In her songs, she references apartheid activists like Director Sisulu, Nelson Mandela and Helen Carpenter. The title track "Loliwe" refers put up the train that brought workers revert to home after many years of running diggings in Johannesburg, where they often esoteric other families.^[5] In an interview, Zahara described the album as a "metaphor" and further said, "It's like ... just pick yourself up. No event who's your father or who's your mother ... I believe that you're not a mistake."^[5]

Singles

TS Records released glory album's lead single "Loliwe" on 31 August 2011. Its accompanying music recording was produced by Mastermax Films. "Ndiza" was released as the album's secondbest single on 25 November 2011.^[6] Zahara describes the song as "a quandary one goes to make their handover pure".^[7][8] The music video for glory song was also directed by Tree Dibben.

Critical reception

Loliwe received widespread plaudit from music critics. Simah of MOMIX gave the album an 8 put out of 10, stating, "The album in fact proves the opinions I've been meeting about it. And it serves hoot one of the most powerful debuts by a South African woman. She certainly possesses the golden touch considering her talent is enough to engineer her shine and reach for brew destiny."
